Setting that Thanksgiving Table at the last minute

With tomorrow being Thanksgiving, I realized that I hadn't had a chance to get my home ready. There will be a few over for this holiday, so I have to focus on pulling together a stylish table for everyone to gather around. Arghhhh! Don't panic! Here are some tips from me to you for setting that table

Have fun with color

Don't go crazy with a fall palette with golds and reds, think like a designer. What color do you love to see? How about a gray and blush palette for a modern home. Maybe you like rustic pieces, so you'd like to mix golden woods with black accents.

Mix and Match

Growing up my grandmother used to have great place settings, so I took a page from her playbook. Add a textural table runner or tablecloth, layer placemats and a decorative charger. And don't be afraid to break out your vintage china and pair it with something modern.

Create a designer centerpiece

Pumpkins are easy to get in various shapes, sizes and colors, but why not add in some fresh herbs? Tall candleholders with LED candles add a warm glow. Mirror tiles can really set the stage for something special.

Utilize the KISS method

If you want to have a space where you can all chat, keep it simple silly. Lower pieces can also make for a stunning look. Keep those site lines open and consider people's reach.

For last minute designs, just breath and really keep in mind how the table is being used. If you are looking to plan ahead for setting your next holiday table, contact Muse Interior Design. There is still plenty of time to get your dining space designed for the holidays.
