One of my first projects
In 2013, I started Muse Interior Design. At the time I was a freelance designer, and was partnered with a furniture showroom to design a space for a charity event. It was a natural step, and one I am very proud of. My design that year was my inspiration for starting my business and now 3 years later, I still look back on that design and smile.
This design was inspired by an Italian farmhouse and played of the idea of contrasts. The walls were based off of an Italian landscape, with light and dark colors. It was a warm interior with pops of cool colors seen in rugs and curtains. Accessories brought in natural elements and textures. All furnishings were reclaimed or up-cycled materials. To give depth, I added in recessed niches for displaying textural pieces.
Enjoy an introduction to this early design.
